About the position

The Technical Illustrator at DigiKey plays a crucial role in creating and maintaining product images for the company's extensive catalog of electronic components. This position involves generating 3D representations of products based on detailed specifications and ensuring that these images are accurately linked to product pages on the DigiKey website. The role requires a blend of technical skills and creativity, as well as collaboration with various teams to uphold brand standards and enhance product presentation.

Responsibilities

• Work with Product Managers and the Product Information teams to ensure accuracy of images
• Link images appropriately on the DigiKey website
• Read and understand datasheets to guarantee images match based on descriptions
• Understand and follow brand standards
• Compile, enhance and format existing photographs and images from manufacturers
• Track and manage tasks within Smartsheets
• Navigate the website and use search parameters to search for images
• Utilize Excel spreadsheets for processing work items
• Take on additional responsibilities from the Marketing Production leadership
• Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars
• Take notes and help execute activities that result from Production efforts
• Other duties as assigned including possible reallocation of efforts to other organizations per business need and management request

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Two Year Degree in Technical Illustration, Industrial Illustration, Design, Multimedia Design or similar area of study or equivalent, relevant work experience
• Understanding of the various functions of DigiKey and the industry
• Knowledge of DigiKey brand and its principles
• Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
• Experience with Photoshop
• Experience with 3D programs such as Solidworks, 3DS Max, or Cinema 4D
• Experience in Smartsheets preferred
