About the position

The Technical IT Project Manager at Bob's Discount Furniture is responsible for overseeing projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to budget, timeline, and scope. This role involves developing project plans that align with client needs and company goals, while coordinating with team managers and technical personnel throughout all project stages.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects with top-down oversight from inception to completion.
  • Develop project plans that meet client needs and align with company goals.
  • Coordinate team managers and technical personnel throughout all stages of the project.
  • Maintain IT strategies by managing staff and implementing technological solutions.
  • Communicate job expectations and monitor job results of IT staff.
  • Recruit, select, orient, and train employees while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Define and support strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
  • Conduct technological research to align with organizational goals and user projects.
  • Coordinate resources and timetables with user departments and data center to complete projects.
  • Conduct system audits of technologies implemented to verify application results.
  • Implement disaster recovery and backup procedures to preserve assets.
  • Evaluate organization outcomes to recommend IT strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Forecast requirements and prepare an annual budget to accomplish financial objectives.
  • Establish and enforce organization standards to maintain quality service.
  • Collaborate and communicate with various teams as needed.
  • Conduct interviews, hire, and train new technical support/IT staff.
  • Provide guidance and insight to upper management and procure buy-in.
  • Report progress and any changes made to plans and production.
  • Contribute to product design and establish requirements.
  • Delegate technical responsibilities and monitor project progress.
  • Oversee user testing and report results, adjusting requirements as needed.
  • Review all work produced by the development team to ensure it meets company standards.
  • Conduct regular status meetings with all necessary stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in project management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of SAP ERP, SAP BW, and/or SAP EWM.
  • Experience with end-to-end implementations of SAP systems.
