The Technical Inside Sales Engineer at Vertiv Corporation is a pivotal role that provides essential technical pre-sales support to targeted partners and national resellers. This position is designed to facilitate effective communication and collaboration between Vertiv and its national reseller technical teams, ensuring that customer application requirements are met with precision. The engineer will be responsible for configuration assistance, developing actual product configurations, and engaging in bid spec reviews and compliance documentation. Additionally, the role involves providing competitive cross-reference inputs to enhance the sales process. In this capacity, the Technical Inside Sales Engineer will primarily interface with national reseller technical teams, sales teams, and Vertiv's own sales teams. The engineer will play a crucial role in optimizing Vertiv solution configurations to address specific application requirements presented by national resellers. This includes assisting in technical sales positioning on proposals, taking into account various factors such as specifications, competition, and winning criteria like price, performance, efficiency, and footprint. Moreover, the engineer will provide technical sales support through training and presentations to targeted national resellers, serving as an escalation point for basic technical pre-sales inquiries. The role also encompasses providing pre-sale applications engineering support via phone, email, and web, as well as defining technical pre-sales elements that support marketing collateral for national resellers. Competitive evaluations will also be part of the responsibilities when appropriate, along with miscellaneous duties as assigned.
