About the position

The Technical Inside Sales Representative at Aberdeen Dynamics LLC is responsible for ensuring a smooth sales process for customers through effective communication, technical problem-solving, and responsiveness. This role involves developing new sales leads, presenting additional products to current customers, and occasionally working overtime to meet customer needs. The representative will work in a supportive office environment, contributing to the company's mission of providing motion and control solutions across various industries.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a positive sales experience for customers through effective communication.
  • Develop new sales leads and present additional products to current customers.
  • Assist customers at the sales counter, including processing cash and credit card transactions.
  • Communicate with customers via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Enter and confirm customer orders accurately.
  • Set up new customer accounts and manage pricing and discounting with vendors.
  • Create Bills of Material and utilize customer and vendor portals for order processing.
  • Quote jobs, including pricing and availability, and provide necessary codes when applicable.
  • Coordinate returns and process credit card payments.
  • Provide product training for customers and analyze customer problems to resolve them.
  • Read and understand engineering schematics and documentation to identify necessary components.
  • Maintain a clean work area.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of technical knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and componentry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and typing skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and procedures.
  • Basic arithmetic skills for pricing and calculations.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Active listening skills to understand customer needs.
