About the position

The Technical Integration Electrical Engineering Co-Op position at Georgia Tech Research Institute offers students the opportunity to engage in diverse scientific and technological projects while alternating between full-time work and academic semesters. This role supports various levels of research and design processes, focusing on electrical and system design, experimental design, data analysis, and software development, particularly in the context of unmanned systems and advanced warfighting technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Support electrical/system design as warranted by the task/mission.
  • Conduct experimental design and optimization.
  • Gather and process experimental data.
  • Record and articulate individual and/or group research results.
  • Develop software including embedded firmware as required.
  • Perform other mission supporting tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA.
  • Eligibility to participate in a co-op program and register for co-op credit with the university during work terms.
  • Ability to complete at least three full-time co-op terms prior to graduation.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Eligibility to obtain a DoD Clearance.
  • Experience in data analysis using Matlab or Python.

Nice-to-haves

  • Enthusiastic about learning new technologies and their operational applications.
  • Experience working with the federal government (military, civilian, or contractor).
  • Experience in the development of unmanned systems.
  • Previous or active DoD clearance.
  • Ability to rapidly develop scripts and process data.
  • Software development experience on embedded systems.
  • Previous engineering design experience including electrical hardware and mechanical design.
  • Previous job, team, or military experience.
