About the position
The Technical Intern 1 - Software Support position at Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is designed for undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a career in software development. Interns will work in a collaborative, agile environment alongside developers and engineers to design and develop software products for a variety of clients. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in software development, with the potential for transition to full-time employment after the internship.
Responsibilities
- Designing, developing, and debugging applications in C#, Java, or JavaScript
- Working with frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue
- Performing code analysis and review
- Designing and implementing graphical user interfaces
- Conducting unit testing
- Documenting software functionality
- Providing software support after release
Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Science or higher in Computer Science or related field
- Some knowledge (or relevant coursework) of agile development methods
- Some knowledge (or relevant coursework) of C#, Java, or JavaScript
- Solid oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in small team settings
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with relational databases and SQL
- Experience (or relevant coursework) with a frontend framework (React, Angular, or Vue)
- Understanding of responsive web design
- Experience (or relevant coursework) with AWS services
