About the position

The Technical Java Project Manager will oversee the management of Azure-based applications, ensuring effective operations and application support. This role requires a strong technical background in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices, along with extensive experience in project management, particularly in the context of cloud-based solutions. The manager will lead a team, drive automation initiatives, and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) while collaborating with both onshore and offshore teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage operations and support teams for large Azure cloud-based applications.
  • Analyze, identify, troubleshoot, and rectify application/infrastructure issues.
  • Own and manage major incidents in production and lower environments as defined by customers.
  • Manage development and enhancement projects in the telecom domain.
  • Track and ensure compliance with various metrics such as SLA, MTTR, MTTA, and KPI.
  • Identify improvement areas and drive automation and transformation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams to ensure application support activities are completed within SLAs.
  • Communicate project status, issues, and risks timely to all stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and managers.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities by driving decision-making and guiding the team to meet project objectives.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in project management.
  • 5+ years of experience managing Azure-based applications.
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps.
  • 8+ years of experience in operations and application support project management.
  • 8+ years of experience in development project management.
  • 5+ years of experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
  • 5+ years of experience in application support.
  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure analysis and monitoring.
  • 5+ years of experience in customer management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the telecom domain.
  • Strong knowledge of telemetry and monitoring tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, and Grafana.
  • Experience working in client-facing roles.
