About the position

GovCIO is seeking a Technical Lead Data Engineer to join our ETL Team, focusing on data ingestion and visualization from various cloud sources. This fully remote position involves creating predictive models, employing ETL tools, and collaborating with business and data subject matter experts to generate insights that impact productivity and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Extracts, transforms, loads, and analyzes data to create descriptive and predictive models.
• Employs ETL tools and programming languages to collect and blend data from operational and external systems.
• Conducts data mining, machine learning, and statistical analyses to develop predictive and descriptive models.
• Performs data discovery and creates visualizations to interpret and present findings.
• Maintains and integrates analytical systems with operational systems, verifying data accuracy.
• Collaborates with business and data SMEs to generate new business insights.
• Parses and transforms structured, unstructured, relational, and NoSQL data using custom code.
• Designs and implements ETL solutions within an AWS environment using tools like AWS Glue and Lambda.
• Utilizes Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate cloud ETL resource management.
• Analyzes data using data mining, machine learning, and statistical algorithms available in COTS tools.
• Interprets and evaluates the accuracy of results using iterative, agile methodologies.
• Applies data discovery and visualization tools to develop actionable data stories.
• Works closely with data SMEs, business, and management to prioritize needs.

Requirements

• HS Diploma with 9+ years of experience/professional.
• Must have or obtain IAT level II/III certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+(CE)).
• Demonstrated experience or certifications in Linux and/or AWS GovCloud technologies.
• 2+ years of experience managing small teams and interfacing with leadership.

• Experience with virtual and/or cloud-based servers and applications (AWS GovCloud specific).
• Comfortable speaking in front of large audiences and performing demos.
• Excellent technical documentation and reporting skills.

• Certification(s) in relevant technologies.
• Active Top Secret clearance.
