About the position

The Technical Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the plastic molding activities within the facility, ensuring efficient production processes while leading a team of process technicians and technical assistants. This role emphasizes compliance with safety and environmental policies, as well as the implementation of Lean and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices to maximize resource utilization and improve operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead process technicians and technical assistants to support all departments of the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies.
  • Train, supervise, review, discipline, and assist in hiring employees in the technical department.
  • Assume full responsibility for the plastic molding activities for the assigned shift.
  • Direct and coordinate all process activities to maintain molding production schedule priorities.
  • Assign shift work assignments to Process Technicians and Technical Assistants, documenting all services performed during the shift.
  • Maintain a clean working environment and ensure safe work practices are followed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to support a union-free environment.
  • Initiate problem-solving and suggest process improvements.
  • Implement and improve TPM and SMED initiatives in the technical department.
  • Manage OEE, Scrap, Cycles, MUV, and machine utilization.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of process control.
  • Expedite production and ensure product quality while supporting lean manufacturing.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to the technical manager.
  • Lead crew safety meetings and support safety initiatives.

Requirements

  • Degree preferred.
  • Proven commitment to safety and solid housekeeping initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead, direct, control, and organize efforts in support of production.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work longer than 12-hour shifts.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software programs and others as necessary.
  • Pass post-offer physical, controlled substance screen, and criminal/reference background check.
  • Proven proficiency in the practical application of 5S, SMED, TPM, Visual Factory, and Kaizen practices in a manufacturing environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Management/Business/Supervision preferred.
  • Development towards higher levels of responsibility and accountability preferred.
  • Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
