About the position

As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase, you will lead multiple teams within the Corporate Oversight & Governance team, overseeing day-to-day implementation activities. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with standards and business requirements while guiding your team in developing high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities
  • Works at code-level and develops secure high-quality production code
  • Manages team of Technologists
  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
  • Conducts regular code reviews and provides constructive feedback to maintain code quality and foster continuous improvement
  • Performs data manipulation, data structuring, data design flow and query optimization using programming languages such as SQL
  • Proactively identifies major issues, risks, dependencies and manages them to minimize impact to overall implementation
  • Designs and builds telemetry and usage tracking solutions for BI tools to improve tool governance and monitoring
  • Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration
  • Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements
  • Manages stakeholder relationships and the team's work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience
  • Experience managing technologists and working at code level
  • Proficient in developing software utilizing React/Angular, Java, SQL, Spring, Spring Boot, and Maven or Gradle in Cloud Native Microservices-driven architecture that deploy as REST APIs
  • Proficient in working with microservices and distributed transaction management
  • Experience with building cloud-native applications (AWS, Azure, Pivotal, or other cloud platforms)
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle, testing methodologies and their effective applications using Cucumber, Junit, Selenium Automated Testing, Functional Testing, System Integration Testing, and Cypress automated testing
  • Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines
