About the position

The Technical Marketing Director for Energy, Power & Sustainability at Equinix is a leadership role focused on driving strategic marketing initiatives that align with the company's revenue goals and business objectives. This position involves overseeing customer insights, executing a comprehensive content strategy, enabling sales teams, and representing Equinix at industry events. The director will collaborate with various teams to ensure cohesive messaging and positioning while actively participating in industry organizations to enhance Equinix's visibility and credibility.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee development of Equinix's largest global customers use cases to amplify the Power, Energy and Sustainability value of our unique industry partnerships
  • Execute a comprehensive technical content strategy, encompassing whitepapers, solution briefs, webinars, and collateral to effectively communicate the value of Equinix's solutions to customers and partners
  • Collaborate closely with sales leadership and GTM teams to drive enablement programs on technical content and tools, equipping sales teams with the knowledge needed to effectively articulate the benefits of Equinix
  • Represent Equinix as a thought leader and subject matter expert at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings
  • Build strong relationships with industry influencers and stakeholders to enhance Equinix's visibility and credibility in the market
  • Represent Equinix in key standards bodies by being an active member and participant
  • Work closely with product management, technical sales, marketing, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align key global product and solution marketing initiatives with product growth targets
  • Communicate strategic plans and initiatives to internal stakeholders and senior leadership, presenting findings, progress reports, and recommendations to ensure buy-in and support

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business, or related fields; MBA or advanced Technology or Science degree preferred
  • 15+ years of experience in Engineering, Technical or Product Marketing Engineering (TME/PME), with at least 5 years in a managerial role
  • An innovative thinker with a creative mindset to solve complex business challenges
  • Cross-functional leadership with demonstrated history of aligning multiple departments to ensure cohesive execution of product marketing initiatives and programs
  • Proven track record of orchestrating and executing complex technical product marketing content and delivery
  • Strong experience in developing and refining product messaging, positioning, and value propositions that resonate with target audiences
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively
  • Well established track record in managing product marketers with strong leadership and mentoring abilities
  • Passion for promoting and integrating company culture into all aspects of work
  • Proficiency in marketing software and tools, including CRM systems and analytics platforms
