About the position

SEL products and technologies play critical roles in various industries around the world. A well-coordinated and informed marketing team is essential to ensure that customers across many countries and industries are aware of our latest solutions and have access to high-quality training and educational resources. As a Technical Marketing Program Manager, you will synthesize industry research, product roadmaps, and customer perspectives to develop strategic marketing plans. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders in Research & Development, Sales & Customer Service, and other divisions to ensure that all marketing collateral and activities are consistent, accurate, and addressing the diverse needs of our customers. A typical day might include meeting with stakeholders and leaders across divisions to discuss product roadmaps, customer perspectives, industry news, and strategic marketing plans. You will learn about SEL technologies, major competitors, and industry trends through independent research and close collaboration with subject matter experts and marketing research analysts. Additionally, you will collaborate with marketing operations and creative teams to foster a stronger understanding of SEL products and applications, inform the direction of marketing activities, and review marketing collateral for technical accuracy. You will also be responsible for developing marketing program plans, project proposals, and technical briefs that distill key technical information, business intelligence, and strategic objectives into actionable guidance for all related marketing activities and collateral. Presenting marketing plans and results for the designated program area to various stakeholders, including executive leadership, will be a key part of your role.

Responsibilities

  • Synthesize industry research, product roadmaps, and customer perspectives to develop strategic marketing plans.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders in Research & Development, Sales & Customer Service, and other divisions.
  • Meet with stakeholders and leaders across divisions to discuss product roadmaps, customer perspectives, industry news, and strategic marketing plans.
  • Conduct independent research on SEL technologies, major competitors, and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with marketing operations and creative teams to inform the direction of marketing activities and review marketing collateral for technical accuracy.
  • Develop marketing program plans, project proposals, and technical briefs that distill key technical information and strategic objectives.
  • Present marketing plans and results for the designated program area to various stakeholders, including executive leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of professional experience in technical marketing, sales, business, engineering, or another related field.
  • Strong research skills and ability to learn technical topics.
  • Ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders and facilitate decisions between groups with competing priorities.
  • Excellent teaching and presentation skills, capable of energizing teams and driving their work.
  • Willingness to travel to conferences, tradeshows, and customer sites to interface directly with engineers and leaders in the industry.
  • Highly motivated, well organized, strategically minded, and detail-oriented.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the engineering or technology sectors.

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
