About the position

The Technical Operations Manager - Systems Engineering is responsible for managing the operational area within the Information Technology Department, specifically focusing on systems engineering. This role involves supervising staff, overseeing technical implementations, and ensuring the effective management of enterprise virtual server infrastructure and related systems. The manager will develop strategic plans, manage projects, and consult with other departments to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, ensuring adequate coverage and control.
• Organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work to meet objectives and monitors progress.
• Manages assigned operational programs, developing and implementing strategic plans and goals.
• Establishes project priorities and develops plans for implementing changes.
• Develops and implements standards, policies, and procedures for data management.
• Consults with other County departments and agencies to provide technical information and advice.
• Makes recommendations regarding departmental budget and monitors expenditures.
• Maintains awareness of new applications and technologies to enhance knowledge and operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Four years of experience in systems engineering management and managing enterprise virtual server infrastructure.
• Experience with Windows or Linux operating systems and managing email systems.
• Experience implementing and managing redundant storage and backup solutions.
• Lead or supervisory experience in managing technical teams.
