About the position

The Technical Platform Manager (TPM) at Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) plays a crucial role in overseeing the Platform Services team, focusing on people management and continuous improvement. The TPM is responsible for monitoring system availability, managing incident responses, overseeing change management processes, planning system upgrades, and facilitating team communication. This position supports various functions, including the Insurance Agency Management application suite, compliance, and major incident management, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor system availability and performance metrics.
  • Manage incident responses and establish protocols for investigating unusual activity.
  • Oversee change management processes and plan system upgrades.
  • Facilitate team communication through daily standups and check-ins.
  • Support the Insurance Agency Management application suite and compliance functions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on initiatives.
  • Lead a team of experienced technical resources and mentor for future leadership opportunities.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of IT experience, including at least 5 years in a management role focused on the Vertafore suite of products, particularly Sagitta, ImageRight, and Benefit Point.
  • Proven project management skills, including planning for system upgrades and overseeing change management processes.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess system uptime and performance metrics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective documentation and team facilitation.
  • Familiarity with incident management and response protocols.
  • Experience in collaboration and teamwork with cross-functional teams.
  • Leadership aptitude to oversee technical resources and develop future leaders.
  • Adaptability to manage multiple priorities and changing project requirements.

Nice-to-haves
