About the position

Honda is seeking a Technical Principal Project Manager to serve as the Supply Chain Operations Regional Technical Lead. This position is pivotal in collaborating with local Supply Chain Operations (SCO) sites to develop and implement the One-way Best Way guidelines. The primary goal is to mitigate risks associated with Safety, Downtime, and GDP impacts that may arise from our North American 3rd Party Logistics Service providers. The Technical Operations Lead will oversee the collaboration of all sites, ensuring a unified approach to determining manpower, evaluating changepoints, performing new model duties, and leading various projects. In this role, the Technical Principal Project Manager will provide direction and leadership to Local Supply Chain Operation Units and 3rd Party Logistics Service providers. This includes identifying, developing, and executing critical projects, business plan initiatives, process tool analysis, and new model evaluations. The position also involves enhancing efficiency and effectiveness through continuous improvement practices. The Regional Technical Lead will be responsible for supporting new model changepoints, innovating Supply Chain Operation processes to facilitate the launch of Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) production, and promoting automation to reduce manpower dependency. Additionally, the Technical Principal Project Manager will act as the primary regional evaluator for North American projects requiring global and regional evaluations. They will drive the transfer of BEV knowledge between facilities during Honda's business electrification process and support associate onboarding and development activities to enhance knowledge of Supply Chain Operations within the Supply Chain Management Division.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction, leadership, and support to Local Supply Chain Operation Units and 3rd Party Logistics Service providers to identify, develop, and execute critical projects.
• Create ‘One Way Best Way' across Supply Chain Operations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness through continuous improvement.
• Support New Model changepoints and innovate Supply Chain Operation processes to build and launch BEV production.
• Drive transfer of BEV knowledge between facilities during Honda's business electrification process.
• Support associate onboarding and development activities to improve knowledge of Supply Chain Operations.

Requirements

• 8+ years of related experience in project management or supply chain operations.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Industrial or Mechanical preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Critical problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Self-driven with the ability to seek feedback and learn beyond assigned areas.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to prioritize tasks/projects in order of importance.
• Good presentation and organizational skills.
• Solid understanding of Supply Chain Operations, including parts flow, logistics, and returns flow from a New Model and Production aspect.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in leading meetings and Unit and Division Level themes.
• Familiarity with Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) production processes.
