About the position

The Technical Product Analyst at Zelis Data Intelligence (ZDI) plays a crucial role in supporting engineering teams by organizing, analyzing, and delivering data intelligence and discovery projects. This internal-facing position acts as a bridge between business and engineering, gathering requirements, communicating project statuses, and resolving issues. The ideal candidate will have a background in data analysis and software, with aspirations to transition into a more product-focused role, contributing to Zelis's roadmap and enhancing the healthcare financial experience.

Responsibilities

  • Become an expert in your product areas, acting as the go-to person for stakeholders before engaging with technical teams.
  • Drive the writing of clear user stories and tasks with Engineering teams to track ongoing and upcoming work.
  • Ensure tickets and timelines are consistently updated and follow up with technical teams on status and roadblocks.
  • Draft clear and concise business requirements and technical product documentation.
  • Understand the Zelis healthcare ecosystem and educate others on requirements and guidelines for accessing and sharing information.
  • Design, build, and own repeatable processes for implementing projects.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, data scientists, and other product teams to scope new or refine existing product features and data capabilities.
  • Understand how your product area links into the wider company roadmap and educate internal teams on the organizational vision.
  • Communicate with technical audiences to identify requirements, gaps, and barriers, translating needs into product features.
  • Track key performance indicators to evaluate product success.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of technical experience as a business analyst, data analyst, technical product analyst, or in engineering roles with a demonstrated ability to deliver alongside technical teams.
  • 2+ years of direct experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks, and product tools such as Jira and Confluence for authoring user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Technical depth to collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, and data scientists, driving technical discussions about data visualizations, data models, ETLs, and data infrastructure deployment.
  • Understanding of Data Management, Data Engineering, or Advanced Analytics concepts, or other data/product tools such as SQL, Python, PowerBI, and/or Tableau.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to work effectively with technical teams.
  • B2B or B2C experience is helpful.
  • Passion for building data products in the healthcare sector.
