About the position

The Technical Product Manager at Bandwidth will oversee the customer-facing aspects of the Bandwidth API Experience, focusing on Developer Experience (DevX), SDKs, and developer documentation. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to define product strategies, features, and improvements, ensuring an exceptional user experience throughout the customer API journey.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end customer API journey, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define product strategies, features, and improvements.
  • Create the initiatives, plan, & priorities for the Bandwidth API and Developer Experience.
  • Focus on the interactions related to a product and service, encompassing quality, functionality, design, and usability.
  • Advocate for unified API-first design using OpenAPI specifications with each product team.
  • Oversee all potential interactions a customer will have with a product through each step of the customer journey.
  • Work with Sales & Market Offer teams on strategic accounts as a technical expert on Bandwidth API.
  • Define metrics through user acquisition, onboarding, product adoption, conversion, and retention.
  • Accountable for API product experience outcomes, despite cross-functional implementation.
  • Drive platform improvements from ideas into solutions validated with potential customers.
  • Focus on refining API competitive analysis to build solutions for One Bandwidth API strategy.
  • Work closely with the Enterprise Architecture community to stay updated with technologies.
  • Establish communication channels between technical teams and customer-facing teams to ensure accurate communications.
  • Ensure customers have an exceptional user experience with the product.
  • Define tools for designing new APIs, including the pipeline for generating API references and SDKs.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in product/software design, software architecture, or solutions architect role.
  • Computer Science background or equivalent technical experience.
  • Experience with consuming APIs and building/shipping API platforms for developers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, structuring ambiguous concepts clearly.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with telecommunications-involved software preferred.
