About the position

The Technical Product Manager for AWS Skills Centers will play a pivotal role in managing technical products and applications, focusing on delivering interactive exhibits that inspire and educate new learners about cloud computing. This position requires a dynamic individual who can effectively communicate technical concepts and collaborate with engineering teams to enhance the AWS Skills Center program, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and direction to the team that aligns with business goals and objectives.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and operate technical hardware in the Skills Center showroom.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to bring cutting-edge technology into the program.
  • Ensure all exhibits meet legal and engineering security requirements.
  • Act as Skills Center Ambassador: leading tours and supporting events hosted by the center.
  • Help shape the ongoing strategy and mission of the AWS Skills Centers program.
  • Work with key vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure bar-raising interactive exhibits within the AWS Skills Centers.
  • Track issues across the program's global locations and implement scalable solutions.
  • Meet regularly with Amazon product teams to develop new exhibits showcasing the latest in cloud technology.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of customer-facing product development and product management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent.
  • Experience working with engineering and technical teams to build automated solutions.
  • Experience managing technical products and applications, ideally with hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services.
  • In-depth knowledge of software architecture and virtualization technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven experience developing technical products and applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in agile product development and life-cycle management process.
  • 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development, or technology experience.
