About the position

The Technical Product Manager - Data at MSC Industrial Supply Co. is responsible for driving value through data platform and data product solutions. Responsibilities

• Build an understanding of stakeholder needs to create product requirements for data platform solutions.
• Develop repeatable data frameworks and processes to reduce manual efforts across the organization.
• Define product goals and translate them into technical specifications.
• Oversee solutions from deployment to ensure valuable services are delivered to stakeholders.
• Conduct end user research to create user stories and identify critical paths and MVPs.
• Monitor industry trends to align MSC's data platform decisions with market direction.
• Communicate technical direction in a business-friendly manner to stakeholders.
• Foster MSC's culture within the department and the company to ensure unity of purpose.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business Information Systems.
• 3-5 years of relevant product experience in Cloud Data Platforms or Data Products.
• Experience in data product or data platform/architecture roles.
• Collaborative experience working with other product managers.
• Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform services (DataProc, Composer, DataForm, Dataflow) and analytics databases (Big Query, Teradata, Snowflake).
• Experience implementing cloud-based data servers.
