About the position

The Technical Product Manager - Data at MSC is responsible for driving value through data platform and data product solutions. This role focuses on building data services that streamline processes and deliver trusted data to users. The manager collaborates with stakeholders and engineering teams to define product requirements and ensure successful deployment of solutions, leveraging knowledge of Google Cloud Data services.

Responsibilities

• Builds an understanding of stakeholder needs and uses this knowledge to build product requirements for data platform solutions.
• Develop data frameworks and processes that are repeatable and benefit the larger organization to reduce manual efforts.
• Define product goals and translate them into technical specifications.
• Responsible for seeing solutions through to deployment and making daily decisions to ensure valuable services are delivered to stakeholders.
• Conduct end user research to build user stories and help identify critical paths and potential MVPs to satisfy requirements.
• Monitor industry direction and landscape to ensure MSC's data platform decisions align with data industry trends.
• Communicate technical direction in business terms for stakeholders.
• Foster the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC's mission.
• Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business Information Systems.
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant product experience in Cloud Data Platform or Data Products.
• Prior experience in a data product or data platform/architecture role.
• Experience working collaboratively with other product managers.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform services (DataProc, Composer, DataForm, Dataflow) and analytics databases (Big Query, Teradata, Snowflake) preferred.
• Experience implementing cloud-based data servers.
