About the position

Bloomberg's CTO Office is at the forefront of innovation, focusing on technical and product development that shapes the future of Bloomberg L.P. Our projects encompass a wide range of cutting-edge technologies, including generative AI strategies, machine learning-powered products, and cloud computing infrastructure. We are dedicated to enhancing our capabilities through open source stewardship and other initiatives. As a Technical Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading our generative AI-powered human-in-the-loop automation strategy. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of a suite of infrastructure, expand our Generative AI services, and develop new features and capabilities that align with our mission. In this role, you will collaborate with a team of highly motivated AI product managers, working on various adjacent projects while engaging with internal stakeholders from product, data, and engineering. The position is designed for individuals who thrive in a cross-functional environment and are comfortable balancing technical expertise with business acumen. You will be responsible for creating and executing a strategic technical product vision that enhances human-AI collaboration through generative AI. This includes managing our AI-augmented annotation platforms and services, conducting research on best practices for human-AI collaboration, and developing a long-term vision and roadmap that integrates the latest advancements from academia and industry. Your responsibilities will also involve translating product roadmap features into well-crafted user stories and acceptance criteria, setting priorities, and managing resources effectively. You will interact with end users and a diverse group of partners to understand their workflows and technical requirements, while also working closely with stakeholders across the company to map business requirements to technical vision. This role requires a commitment to Agile methodologies, where you will continuously review business needs, refine priorities, and identify opportunities and risks. Ultimately, you will be part of a Product team and CTO organization that prioritizes long-term optimization and success.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute on a strategic technical product vision for human-AI collaboration powered by generative AI.
  • Be the technical product manager for AI-augmented annotation platforms and services.
  • Carry out research on best practices for human-AI collaboration, including technical and human factors aspects.
  • Collaborate with the CTO office, Engineering, and the Data Department on company-wide initiatives with visibility to top executives.
  • Develop a long-term vision and roadmap for AI-powered annotation platforms and services.
  • Translate product roadmap features into well-crafted user stories and acceptance test criteria.
  • Set priorities and define the scope while effectively managing resources.
  • Interact with end users and partners to understand workflows and technical requirements.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand capabilities, constraints, and opportunities.
  • Anticipate scale challenges and map business requirements to technical vision.
  • Work in an Agile environment, continuously reviewing business needs and refining priorities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with technical product management or technical leadership.
  • 5+ years of experience with AI-powered annotation platforms, human computation, crowdsourcing, or a related field.
  • Engagement with the research or open source community around human computation.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate with engineers, data scientists, and senior management.
  • A product-driven focus with a track record of shaping business strategy and roadmaps for technical products.
  • Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D) or equivalent experience in a computing discipline with a specialization in machine learning or human computation.
  • Experience performing high-quality research.
