About the position

As a Technical Product Manager II on the Developer Platform - SDK Account Experiences team at Riot Games, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of authentication and identity products that support all of Riot's games globally. Your deep technical knowledge combined with product leadership capabilities will enable you to develop and execute strategies that drive the delivery of critical products and systems to players. You will lead diverse teams to tackle some of the most challenging technical issues, ensuring that Riot Games can launch the next wave of games with innovative account and identity features. In this role, you will be responsible for developing the technical product vision and strategy for the SDK Account Experiences team. This includes collaborating with other platform teams in the authentication and identity space, managing essential customer and partner relationships, and overseeing the product team backlog. You will create a product roadmap that fosters a culture of improvement and facilitates effective development practices. Your leadership will be crucial in managing project scope based on customer and partner communications, ensuring alignment with Riot's objectives, and reviewing service-level agreements with core customers. You will partner closely with the Engineering Manager, Technical, Design, and Quality Leads to align on the product and technical plans that the team will execute. Your ability to navigate operational and development challenges, along with your hands-on experience leading agile teams, will be essential for success in this position. You will also be expected to understand product management principles and work collaboratively within a cross-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the technical product vision and development strategy for Riot's SDK Account Experiences team.
  • Collaborate with other platform teams in the authentication and identity space.
  • Manage all essential customer and partner relationships including game teams and other Riot teams that will integrate with Riot's auth and identity systems.
  • Manage the product team backlog, create a product roadmap, foster a culture of improvement, and facilitate development practices for the team.
  • Actively manage project scope as a result of customer and partner communications and ensure the product team is aligned with Riot's objectives.
  • Review and develop service-level agreements and goals with all core customers.
  • Partner and collaborate with the Engineering Manager, Technical, Design, and Quality Leads on the Riot SDK Account Experiences team to align on the product and technical plan the team executes against.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience, preferably on services/API technical product teams.
  • Understanding of API-based products, primary components, and customer experience (developer experience).
  • Excellent team leadership skills and ability to refine technical product vision.
  • Understanding of operational and development challenges and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Hands-on experience leading agile (scrum) teams.
  • Understanding of product management and how to navigate around constraints while finding balanced solutions.
  • Experience working collaboratively on a cross-disciplinary team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working on software products in the gaming or entertainment space.
