About the position

The Technical Product Manager III (Data Products) role at Expedia Group is focused on driving product strategy and influencing decisions across various business groups within the Data and AI team. This position is crucial for creating, maintaining, and growing enterprise data stores that enhance the understanding and utilization of data across the organization. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and a passion for data to improve the experiences of travelers and partners worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Partner with internal stakeholders to drive product strategy and influence decisions across various business groups.
• Translate business goals into technical data product requirements, including discovering dependencies and defining data contracts.
• Act as an internal consultant, providing support across the organization through being a product Subject Matter Expert, and crafting comprehensive documentation.
• Organize the strategic vision into key themes that solve for both short-term and long-term business & customer requirements.
• Create a strategic, KPI-driven plan to achieve key themes and milestones, making tradeoff decisions with engineering teams when necessary.
• Apply understanding of data engineering principles to enable engineering teams with actionable technical requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's equivalent experience with 5+ years for Bachelor's and 3+ years' experience with Master's.
• Experience working in a technology company managing data products.
• Proficient in SQL: able to create detailed technical requirements defining how data from different systems will work together and assist technical data consumers with their own questions or queries.
• Proven understanding of data engineering fundamentals.
• Experience and deep understanding of agile SDLC methodology.
