About the position

The Technical Product Manager III for Treasury Management Solutions at City National Bank is a pivotal role within the Product Management function, responsible for developing, managing, and owning products and programs that align with corporate strategies and initiatives. This position plays a crucial role in enhancing the bank's competitive edge in the marketplace by creating new products aimed at increasing market share and profitability. The role encompasses a comprehensive product management cycle that begins with analyzing market needs and opportunities, leading to product development, implementation, and ongoing performance tracking. In this role, the Product Manager will provide direction and support for product design, enhancement, pricing, and profitability analysis. They will coordinate and manage all activities related to specific products or product lines, from conception to market launch. This includes conducting economic and market research, preparing product documentation, and serving as a technical advisor on product-related matters. The Product Manager will also be responsible for training colleagues, developing policies and procedures, and creating marketing materials to support product launches. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for product enhancement and development, which may arise from market analysis, client feedback, or internal initiatives. Regular reporting and analysis on product performance will be essential, as will staying informed about competitive and regulatory changes that may impact assigned products. The Product Manager will also be involved in pricing reviews, product evaluations, and managing the product management aspects of acquisition conversions. Building and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders is vital to ensure integrated processes that support high levels of customer service. Overall, this role demands a blend of strategic thinking, project management, and technical expertise to drive product success and contribute to the bank's growth objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned products/product lines.
  • Identify, evaluate and implement measures to improve product performance, profitability, competitiveness and accountability.
  • Identify, evaluate and implement opportunities/needs for product enhancement and development.
  • Prepare reports and analyses on assigned products/product lines and present to Bank Management on a regular basis.
  • Keep up to date on competition, regulation, marketplace, and internal and external issues related to assigned products.
  • Develop information materials on product features, benefits, requirements, pricing and services, and prepare and execute training seminars as needed.
  • Review product pricing on an annual basis for all assigned products and make recommendations.
  • Monitor development activities relating to meeting product objectives, budget, quality standards and schedule.
  • Recommend and implement programs to minimize costs, ensure optimum output and maintain quality.
  • Participate in product evaluation; provide recommendations for changes and revisions as required.
  • Serve as product expert for a variety of issues, providing advice/guidance on sales and operational support for technical product issues.
  • Manage Product Management portion of acquisition conversions.
  • Represent the Bank by actively participating in outside civic and community affairs, business and industry-related organizations, and other professional activities as appropriate.
  • Foster and maintain good relationships with colleagues to ensure that processes are integrated to support expected customer service levels.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of product management experience required.
  • Minimum 3 years of banking experience required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing medium to large projects required.
  • Excellent project planning and managerial skills are required to plan, assign and monitor all assigned projects.
  • Extensive industry/business knowledge necessary.
  • Displays creativity when designing solutions to problems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Treasury Management products is a plus.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the banking sector.
