About the position

Umpqua Bank is seeking a Technical Product Manager III to join our team in Hillsboro, OR. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for defining and communicating the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the bank's private and public cloud infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with engineers, architects, security teams, and other cross-functional groups to develop and launch innovative products and services, ensuring that all efforts are synchronized across departmental initiatives. Your expertise in product management and agile methodologies will be crucial in contributing to the bank's growth strategy, particularly focusing on Microsoft Azure and Private Cloud initiatives. As a Technical Product Manager, you will engage with stakeholders and internal customers to gather feedback, ensuring that product goals align with business objectives. You will implement and promote Agile best practices within the product development process, facilitating Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. Additionally, you will support Cloud Operations teams in managing their product backlogs, ensuring that priorities are aligned with the product roadmap and that projects are completed on schedule. Your role will also involve establishing key success metrics and sharing updates on product development progress, all while modeling exceptional communication and collaboration skills. You will be expected to maintain compliance with all bank regulations relevant to your job function, keeping up to date with regulatory changes and following all bank policies and procedures. As a subject matter expert, you may also be asked to coach, mentor, or train others, actively fostering the Umpqua corporate culture in all your actions. Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Cloud Operations.
  • Align product goals with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with engineering, security, and other cross-functional teams to develop and launch new products and features, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality standards.
  • Engage with stakeholders, engineering teams, and internal customers to gather feedback and ensure alignment.
  • Implement and promote Agile best practices within the product development process.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Support Cloud Ops teams in the development and management of their product backlogs, ensuring it is prioritized according to the product roadmap and that projects are completed on schedule.
  • Offer guidance and support to the engineering teams, leveraging your understanding of the product's technical aspects to assist them in making informed decisions.
  • Establish key success metrics and share updates on product development and progress.
  • Model and exhibit exceptional communication and collaboration in working with others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or related field preferred.
  • Master's Degree in Business, Finance or related field preferred.
  • 7-10 years of product management, software engineering, information technology, or banking experience combined required.
  • Extensive ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.
  • Strong understanding of software development processes, technologies, and tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Extensive written and verbal communication, presentation skills, and project management skills.
  • Ability to train and present to small and large audiences.
  • Ability to present findings and recommendations to the most senior levels of the organization.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and best practices.
