About the position

The Strategy team's mission is to drive growth by executing Beeline's business strategy. We support Beeline investment decisions, prioritization, and allocation of talent by providing a holistic understanding of our products, markets, and relative advantages. We do so by closely monitoring the key trends driving our business and industry forward, building and maintaining internal and external relationships with customers, influencers, and ecosystem partners, and setting the strategy and roadmaps for the product portfolio. A Technical Product Manager in Product Management/Product Strategy is a senior role within Beeline's Strategy team responsible for understanding the business case, product vision, and roadmap related to a product and/or market. The Technical Product Manager is responsible for decomposing the product's high-level vision and roadmap into detailed, prioritized user stories used to collaborate with the Delivery team in execution of the vision. The Technical Product Manager represents the voice of the customer, they are the expert on the product, and accountable for delivering the vision and the value to the market. This role requires an individual who can serve both as a subject matter/product expert when engaging with clients and as a market expert when collaborating internally with product design, product strategy, sales, marketing, product marketing, and operational teams. This role is highly cross-functional, requiring the skills and acumen to partner with and influence colleagues across the business. This leader is a principal champion of the company's vision and change agent for the transformation of our product offering.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary point person for the Delivery team to define and execute Beeline's strategic goals and business objectives.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for product managers, internal stakeholders, and technology teams.
  • Collaborates with the Delivery team and stakeholders to translate functional and non-functional requirements into well-defined product requirements including features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria.
  • Review product portfolio and strategy from an administrator value point of view.
  • Collaborates with Product Design to create wireframes and/or prototypes to help define the user experience.
  • Continuously prioritizes and maintains the product backlog for assigned products and features, balancing the requirements of customers and stakeholders and owning the decision to pivot when necessary.
  • Build a deep understanding of our existing business, market, and product.
  • Work with cross-functional partners (product, marketing, partnerships, operations, engineering, finance) to surface opportunities and threats, outline data-driven strategic decisions, and frame actionable product recommendations.
  • Effectively conveys the product vision to the Delivery team to map a clear path and create alignment.
  • Works closely with the Delivery team to ensure delivery goals are met, reprioritized as needed, and scope is maintained.
  • Synthesizes customer feedback from multiple sources and incorporates it into the product backlog to deliver increased value to the market.
  • Leads and directs the team towards the goals and achievements.
  • Defends the integrity of the product, feature goals, and the committed work.
  • Provides quick, day-to-day, just-in-time decisions to business level questions for the Delivery team.
  • Provides sign off on product release functionality through validation of user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Continuously tracks and reports progress to stakeholders towards quarterly goals and the product vision.
  • Collaborates with Product Marketing/Technical Publications to develop internal and external product collateral.

Requirements

  • 5 years experience in a customer-facing technical role such as product management or professional services
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or related field
  • Familiarity with product management tools, such as JIRA, ProductBoard or similar, and proficiency in Agile project management methodologies
  • Experience working with Procurement software, VMS, Contract Management Software, and/or HR tools strongly preferred
  • Certification in Pragmatic Marketing Product Management preferred
  • Quickly connects ideas and concepts and can translate abstract ideas into tangible outcomes

  • Strong analytically (business model building, results tracking and interpretation)
