About the position

Nerdery is a digital product consultancy that partners with clients to enhance their digital journey through innovative technology solutions. As a Technical Product Manager (TPM) focusing on Order Management Systems, you will play a crucial role in shaping data-driven technical solutions that align with business objectives and user needs. This position requires a deep understanding of technical architecture, data management principles, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable product roadmaps. You will work closely with engineering teams to ensure the feasibility of proposed solutions and advocate for user-centric design principles throughout the product development process. In this role, you will serve as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring clear communication of data volumes, processing needs, and integration points with existing systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data analytics and UX design, to create intuitive interfaces and define data strategies that meet client business needs. Your responsibilities will also include managing product backlogs, conducting user acceptance testing, and maintaining comprehensive product documentation to facilitate knowledge transfer across stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product management, particularly with order management systems, and possess excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. You will be expected to stay updated on the latest technologies and continuously seek innovative solutions to drive client success. This role is pivotal in ensuring that Nerdery delivers cutting-edge solutions that empower clients to achieve their goals and delight their customers.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the technical feasibility of proposed solutions.
  • Leverage knowledge of technical architecture, data pipelines, cloud platforms, and data management principles to advise the team and make informed decisions.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to craft systems diagrams and advise on solutions architecture decisions.
  • Serve as a bridge between business stakeholders and the technical team, translating business needs into technical requirements.
  • Communicate data volumes, processing needs, security concerns, and integration points with existing systems.
  • Translate technical concepts for non-technical business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with data analytics, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to define data-driven strategies and translate them into product roadmaps.
  • Identify use cases that capture client goals and bring them to life through key features and success metrics.
  • Advocate for user-centric design principles in technical product development.
  • Work closely with UX designers to create intuitive and efficient interfaces for end users.
  • Collaborate with the data analytics team to understand trends and patterns of available data and define a data strategy.
  • Manage product backlogs, prioritizing features based on user impact, business value, and technical dependencies.
  • Track project progress against deadlines within an Agile development environment.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and gather feedback from client stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive product documentation for both internal and client use.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in product management, preferably with a focus on data-driven solutions.
  • In-depth experience working with order management systems.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, data pipelines, data security best practices, and familiarity with cloud platforms.
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience leading 1-1 stakeholder interview sessions.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proven ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and ensure compliance with State and federal data privacy regulations.
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams including Design, Engineering, Strategy, and Analytics.
  • Experience working with Google Cloud Platform is a strong plus.
  • Experience leading client stakeholder workshops to drive alignment is a strong plus.
