About the position

As a Technical Product Manager at Cognizant, you will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of innovative product strategies that align with our modernization vision. This position requires you to take ownership of the entire product lifecycle, ensuring that our solutions deliver strategic value, usability, and performance. You will be responsible for influencing key stakeholders in design and planning decisions, managing prioritization and trade-offs among experience, scope, and time to market. Your collaboration with frontend and backend engineering teams, design, and stakeholders in an agile environment will be crucial in delivering high-quality solutions to the market. In this role, you will proactively identify and resolve strategic issues to help the team meet business, financial, and technical goals. You will lead backlog planning and development through day-to-day collaboration with a cross-functional team, including engineers, designers, and business representatives. Your ability to develop detailed user stories with acceptance criteria based on customer needs and business requirements will be essential for creating product specifications and architecture. Additionally, you will work closely with UX Research to design usability studies that inform product requirements and influence product design. You will also be responsible for defining and analyzing metrics that measure and benchmark solution success, driving product launches, and optimizing processes for best-in-class software systems. As a leader, you will provide technology guidance and mentorship to others in your domain, demonstrating superior product and industry knowledge. Responsibilities

  • Own the development and implementation of creative, high-quality requirement roadmaps based on Modernization strategy and vision.
  • Assume end-to-end responsibility for the strategic value, usability, and performance of our solutions.
  • Influence key stakeholders in design and planning decisions.
  • Manage prioritization and trade-offs among experience, scope, and time to market.
  • Work closely with frontend/backend engineering teams, design, and stakeholders in an agile environment to deliver solutions to market.
  • Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues to help the team meet business, financial, and technical goals.
  • Lead backlog planning and development through day-to-day collaboration and decision making with a cross-functional team including engineers, designers and business or subject matter representatives.
  • Develop detailed, crisp user stories with acceptance criteria based on customer needs/experience and business requirements that can be used to create product specifications and architecture.
  • Work with UX Research to design usability and research studies to advise product requirements and influence product design and experience.
  • Own and handle the backlog; continuously orders and prioritizes to ensure that 1-2 sprints/iterations of backlog are always ready.
  • Define and analyze metrics that measure and benchmark solution success.
  • Drive product launches including working with business stakeholders, engineers, and other cross-functional teams across the enterprise.
  • Play an active role in optimization and process improvements, for teams to easily understand, build, and maintain best-in-class software systems.
  • Provide leadership, technology guidance and mentor others throughout their domain.
  • Demonstrate superior product and industry knowledge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience.
  • Understanding of distributed systems, cloud computing, and microservices architectures.
  • 5+ years of proven experience working as Technical Lead/Design lead/Solution lead/Technical Product Manager.
  • Strong work ethic, self-starter, and ability to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
  • Strong business process acumen with experience in supporting business stakeholders.
  • Business-level communication skills are a must.
  • Ability to facilitate dialogues that produce new points of view and trigger recommendations for substantial innovations/enhancements.
  • Skilled in negotiation to align stakeholders and communicate a single synthesized perspective to the scrum team.
  • Database knowledge - SQL, NoSQL, table structure, data relationships.
