About the position

The Technical Product Manager at Optum is responsible for driving the product development lifecycle from ideation to launch, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs. This role requires a technical background and a passion for product vision, focusing on technology-driven solutions to improve health outcomes. The position involves collaboration with stakeholders, managing product backlogs, and leading cross-functional teams through Agile methodologies, all while working remotely within the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Drive the product development lifecycle from ideation to launch, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Corporate Services to gather and prioritize requirements
• Work closely with development teams to translate technical requirements into clear, actionable tasks
• Manage product backlogs, set priorities, and make informed trade-off decisions
• Analyze product performance using data and user feedback to iterate and improve existing products
• Lead cross-functional teams through Agile methodologies, ensuring consistent and effective communication

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in product management, preferably with a technical focus
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business terms and vice versa
• Data-driven mindset, with experience using analytics to guide product decisions

Nice-to-haves

• Experience managing enterprise software products or internal tools
• Proficiency in roadmap planning tools like JIRA, Aha!, or similar
• Background in software development, with a solid understanding of coding, APIs, and cloud
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
• Knowledge of user experience (UX) principles and the ability to work closely with UI/UX designers
