About the position

The Technical Product Manager for Search, Summary, and Insight will lead the development of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Generative AI workflows aimed at enhancing knowledge management and generating insights from unstructured data. This role focuses on delivering tailored solutions for text understanding, such as systematic literature reviews and ad hoc question answering, while collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure the strategic vision is realized. The position emphasizes software product reuse and innovation, enabling faster delivery and experimentation in drug discovery and development.

Responsibilities

• Drive the development of NLP and Generative AI workflows for knowledge management.
• Lead the delivery of tailored solutions for text understanding use cases.
• Collaborate with technical leads and stakeholders across the organization.
• Ensure the adoption and evolution of the strategic vision in NLP and AI.
• Engage directly with users and sponsors of data science and AI products.
• Implement and standardize ML and LLM operations for model evaluation and monitoring.
• Present approaches and impacts of team implementations to internal and external audiences.

Requirements

• Experience in product management, particularly with data- and ML-driven products.
• Proven ability to lead agile software development teams and apply agile best practices.
• Familiarity with technical software development and deployment best practices.
• Experience in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) management and documentation.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills, including scientific communication.
• Proficiency in programming with Python and full-stack software development.
• Experience with version control and collaboration tools like git.
• Knowledge of data engineering frameworks such as Apache Spark and orchestration frameworks like Airflow.
• Understanding of statistical learning and NLP contexts.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with semantic search and retrieval frameworks.
• Familiarity with NLP and Generative AI libraries and tools.
• Experience in mentoring junior employees and less experienced collaborators.
