About the position

The Technical Product Manager at the University of Idaho plays a crucial role in the planning, design, and development of enterprise applications. This position is responsible for the success of a product or family of products, working closely with cross-functional business leaders and technology leadership to ensure systems support the growth of the University. The role blends product and project leadership, requiring collaboration with various teams to align activities with the university's business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a Product or Portfolio of related Products.
  • Define a vision for a product and create product roadmaps.
  • Align stakeholders around the vision for the product and prioritize product features and capabilities.
  • Ensure effective cross-functionality and collaboration between teams.
  • Manage customer satisfaction and adhere to service level targets.
  • Ensure development projects meet business requirements and comply with security and privacy regulations.
  • Manage the product lifecycle and coordinate testing schedules.
  • Gather requirements and user stories, prioritize tasks, and monitor progress.
  • Develop technical design documents and architectural diagrams.
  • Maintain relationships with technology vendors and business owners.

Requirements

  • Three years working with software applications in a technical or functional support role.
  • Ability to prioritize work and ensure projects are completed on time.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Ellucian ERP systems and related technologies.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Team Dynamix.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Benefits

  • Salary range: $84,000 - $94,000
  • Remote work options available with a preference for local candidates.
