About the position

Innovative Medicine R&D (IMRD) is seeking a highly motivated IT SAP Manager based in New Jersey. This role is pivotal in developing sophisticated solutions and providing technical and process expertise to support IMRD requirements. The successful candidate will help define an integrated financial solution strategy, drive design and technical implementation, and collaborate with architects to create innovative solutions. The position involves working on diverse projects, from gathering customer requirements to implementing the solutions. The BEACON platform is an IMRD-specific SAP ERP system managed by the IMRD IT Financial Systems Team. This ERP platform is utilized in over 80 countries by approximately 18,000 users, including finance and tax shared services. Key capabilities of BEACON include accounting processes, financial postings from various corporate and IMRD systems, intercompany processes, fixed assets/AUC management, purchase order commitments, project accounting, time reporting, capacity management, financial reporting, financial planning, IP billing, and automated book-close. It is important to note that this SAP platform is a SOX-regulated system. The IMRD IT Team supports various finance organizations globally, including Janssen IMRD, Janssen Business Services in Belgium, and Janssen Global Services in Manila. This position requires a solid understanding of financial processes along with SAP functional and technical skills, expertise in the design and implementation of financial systems or enterprise software, and experience in documentation. Successful candidates should possess a high energy level, experience working with various support functions, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both business and technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead analysis, research, design, and development of new functionalities and integration with key applications and services under SAP ecosystems.
  • Perform business problem definition by understanding and translating business problems faced by the finance function into a value case and comprehensive set of solutions spanning process, technology, data, governance, and user experience supported by defined, baseline value realization key performance indicators.
  • Design new solutions and enhancements based on business requirements.
  • Provide process and design guidance to the functional and development team.
  • Guide the technical team to develop, configure, and implement the solution as per product development standards to meet business requirements.
  • Monitor the work of the technical team and ensure standards are adhered to in accordance with SDLC/Agile requirements.
  • Ensure technical integrity of projects, making sure that common technical elements are leveraged and that work is not duplicated.
  • Work with supporting functional teams on the design of test plans, test cases, and on automation of existing and new processes.
  • Participate in the product roadmap and product strategy definition.
  • Help and review the creation of training, product, and solution documentation.
  • Coordinate with other J&J technical teams on changes and enhancements to ensure compatibility with other systems integrated with the IMRD SAP platform.
  • Hold self and others accountable to committed timelines and ensure successful results.
  • Engage with Corporate Finance, IT, and other strategic partners to identify and validate requirements and translate them into solution design.
  • Lead the team in driving and delivering customer solutions.
  • Participate in resolving technology integration problems.
  • Collaborate with product management teams to ensure roadmaps are oriented to deliver finance business and technology strategy, value creation objectives, and measurable key performance indicators.
