About the position

The Technical Product Manager at Continental is responsible for overseeing the entire product lifecycle, from specification and design to market observation and product quality. This role involves ensuring compliance with technical specifications, supporting product development, and managing product releases while also evaluating competitor products and identifying new business opportunities. The position requires collaboration with various teams and may involve domestic and international travel.

Responsibilities

• Product Specification & Product Information: Ensure compliance with technical characteristics and assist in preparing technical specifications.
• Product Development & Design: Prepare tests, support concept development, and create relevant design documents.
• Technical Product Release: Monitor legal requirements and obtain necessary product approvals.
• Product Quality & Market Observation: Provide technical support for warranty reports and evaluate competitor products.
• Support for Specialist Departments: Assist in creating training content and supplier qualification.
• Portfolio Strategy: Develop the product portfolio in line with strategy and identify new product ideas.
• Program Coverage: Prioritize product inclusion decisions and ensure processing of product applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 2 years of experience in Technical Product Management, Product Development, or Project Management.
• Experience with product benchmarking, supplier evaluation, and technical product release.
• General understanding of the automotive business.
• Flexibility to support 25% domestic/international travel.

Nice-to-haves

• 5 years of experience in Automotive Aftermarket Technical Product Management.
• Knowledge of Automotive Aftermarket and Distribution Channels.
• Experience with SAP.
