The Technical Product Manager at Equifax is a pivotal role responsible for understanding and enhancing the technology platform to ensure the successful delivery of enhancements that align with business, security, and technology objectives. This position requires a dynamic and charismatic leader who can effectively interact with various stakeholders, including Product Management, Engineering, Leadership, and Go-To-Market teams. The Technical PM will develop a comprehensive understanding of the platform, providing directional oversight on its architecture and interconnectivity with technology systems and shared services. Clarity in product offerings is essential for success, as the Technical PM will facilitate changes, additions, or the development of new products based on business goals and revenue retention strategies. In this role, the Technical PM will be responsible for approving business requirements, estimations, functional specifications, and testing strategies to ensure alignment with expected outcomes. They will lead and partner with engineering teams to deliver optimal solutions. Daily responsibilities include developing in-depth knowledge of initiatives and features, providing technical thought leadership, and bridging the gap between ideas and delivery. The Technical PM will also contribute to the understanding of the product catalog and global services catalog, encouraging teams to reuse services across business units to expedite speed to market. Setting product prioritization with a balance of near-term deliverables and long-term investments in technology platforms is crucial. The Technical PM will articulate the vision and direction at all organizational levels through presentations and roadmaps, regularly assessing risks, anticipating bottlenecks, managing escalations, and making trade-offs that balance business needs with constraints. They will play a leadership role in transforming the platform and product in support of business objectives, ensuring a positive influence with engineering partners to deliver outcomes collaboratively. The role also involves working as a player/coach, leading product owners while also engaging in tactical work to keep execution on schedule. The Technical PM will leverage market knowledge to guide innovation and influence technology direction, working closely with various teams to identify and prioritize functional and non-functional requirements for product features, security, and operational needs.
