The Product, Design, & Marketing Budget Team is seeking a resourceful and experienced product manager to oversee the development of an internal tool. This position is responsible for documenting new feature requests, bugs, and enhancements, overseeing feature development, gathering requirements, and creating documentation. The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver who can recognize issues and identify solutions. The candidate is a self-starter who takes initiative and thrives in a fast-paced environment; able to work autonomously, detailed, and able to communicate effectively with developers and internal customers. Experience with large data sets and spend data such as Purchase Requests, Purchase Orders, and invoices is a plus. In this role, you will clearly set expectations and communicate status to both technical and business teams. You will take responsibility and feel a personal stake in the product you ship. Integrity is key; you will manage conflict and work for the success of the entire team. You should have a proven ability to establish rapport, credibility, and influence others to drive results across a large matrixed organization. Creative problem-solving skills related to team, project deliverables, and cross-functional issues are essential. The position requires a demonstrated understanding of the fundamentals of iterative software development, knowledge of development processes and methodologies, including Agile, and an understanding of how to leverage these techniques to provide value to a team or enterprise. You will value the commitments to delivery made by a development team and understand the technical requirements to meet these commitments. Understanding incremental delivery and the value of metrics is crucial. Proven use of backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition is expected. Familiarity with PHP development and the LAMP stack isn't required, but would be helpful. An understanding of business intelligence technologies, concepts, architectures, and methodologies is a plus, as is familiarity with supply chain concepts and processes. Some travel may be required.
