Vast is looking for a Technical Product Manager, reporting to the Director of Information Systems, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location. The Technical Product Manager will play a crucial role in requirement gathering and definition, ensuring that technical requirements are clearly defined and aligned with business goals. The role involves creating and managing a roadmap that reflects the technical needs and milestones of the product, ensuring that the product's technical aspects are feasible and align with the latest technological standards and practices. The Technical Product Manager will engage with stakeholders, particularly engineering teams, requiring a deep understanding of technical language and constraints. This position focuses on the 'how' of product development, ensuring that technological aspects are feasible and scalable. Responsibilities include uncovering and understanding customer needs, translating them into requirements, and ensuring that implementation plans match expectations. The role also involves assessing emerging products and companies, conducting capability analysis, providing internal and customer training, and serving as a product evangelist and subject matter expert to the technical/developer community. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, often requiring knowledge in software development, architecture, and engineering principles. They will also need to understand and analyze data pipelines, algorithms, and automated systems, and facilitate the creation and maintenance of proper product documentation.
