About the position

The Technical Product (Offering) Manager at Vertiv will be responsible for defining and maintaining the Rack PDU portfolios for data center infrastructure connectivity solutions. This role involves collaboration with internal and external customers, prioritizing feature backlogs using Agile methodologies, and creating technical Market Requirement Documents (MRDs) to communicate market needs to engineering teams. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical proficiency, program management skills, and strong interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineering groups, team leads, and product management to design, document, develop, and maintain embedded software solutions.
  • Define, develop, and administer customer-facing product evaluation programs.
  • Provide on-site critical customer consultations when required.
  • Create and maintain product documentation including user manuals, quick start guides, and technical documentation.
  • Support the regionalization of documents as needed.
  • Utilize Agile/Scrum processes for project management.
  • Analyze competitor products, documenting strengths and deficiencies in core functionality.
  • Act as Project Sponsor and interface with the Project Management team to approve change requests.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of professional engineering experience in designing, developing, and analyzing networking products.
  • Knowledge of the product development life cycle is desirable.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in leading discussions and summarizing key points and action items.
  • Knowledge of GitLab/JIRA and bug/defect tracking tools is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant customer segments and technical expertise to translate customer needs into solutions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially in conveying customer needs.
  • Strong relationship management skills and time management skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with WSJF for backlog prioritization.
  • Familiarity with documenting and troubleshooting using tools like JIRA, GitLab, and Smartsheet.
