About the position

The Technical Product (Offering) Manager at Vertiv Corporation is responsible for defining and maintaining the Rack PDU portfolios for data center infrastructure connectivity solutions. This role involves collaboration with internal and external customers, prioritizing feature backlogs using Agile techniques, and creating technical Market Requirement Documents (MRDs) to communicate market needs to engineering teams. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical proficiency, program management skills, and strong interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineering groups, team leads, and product management to design, document, develop, and maintain embedded software solutions.
  • Define, develop, and administer customer-facing product evaluation programs.
  • Provide on-site critical customer consultations when required.
  • Create and maintain product documentation including user manuals, quick start guides, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum process and WSJF for backlog prioritization.
  • Act as Project Sponsor and interface with the Project Management team to approve change requests.
  • Analyze competitor products, documenting strengths and deficiencies in core functionality.
  • Document and troubleshoot using tools such as JIRA, GitLab, and Smartsheet.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline with 8+ years of professional engineering experience in networking products.
  • Knowledge of product development life cycle is desirable.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in leading discussions and summarizing key points and action items.
  • Knowledge of GitLab/JIRA and bug/defect tracking tools is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant customer segments.
  • Technical expertise to translate customer needs into solutions.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, especially in communicating customer needs.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information and complex ideas to diverse audiences.

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools.
