The Technical Product Owner for Care Team Tools at Mayo Clinic plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between customer needs and business objectives within the Scrum team. This position is responsible for creating, prioritizing, and managing the product backlog while providing essential information regarding the vision and goals to the development team. The Product Owner collaborates closely with stakeholders, Product Management, the Scrum Lead, and developers to deliver innovative and efficient digital solutions that meet the needs and expectations of end users. In this role, the Product Owner must understand both business and technical engineering/IT needs to ensure the delivery of high-quality digital products and operational workflows that meet or exceed desired business objectives. This includes performing cost, benefit, and risk analyses associated with proposed products and services, recommending alternatives throughout the product lifecycle. The Product Owner will also collaborate with stakeholders and users to synthesize, articulate, and document business and system requirements, translating these into technical specifications, acceptance criteria, user experience requirements, and system validation. These technical specifications will guide Engineering/IT in the final design and product build or integration. Additionally, the Product Owner may assist product and operations leaders in coordinating the deployment of deliverables, which can vary by product. They will provide input for the development of other product documents, project charters, plans, work assignments, and deliverable target dates. The role requires applying systems engineering methodologies throughout the product and project lifecycle, ensuring accurate and clear scope boundaries for products and technical requirements. The Product Owner will also assess and define problems through root cause analysis, proactively proposing solutions. They must be capable of interpreting vended solution architecture and translating it into scope of work and technical specification requirements for integration into Mayo Clinic's engineering and technology systems. Furthermore, the Product Owner will help define product implementation change management requirements for products that do not require formal Implementation Team resources. Demonstrated experience in leading teams in a Product Owner capacity is essential for success in this role.
