About the position

As a Technical Program Manager at Meta Platforms, Inc., you will be responsible for managing cross-functional infrastructure information technology programs within a matrix organization. This role encompasses a wide range of areas, requiring you to develop and manage end-to-end project plans while ensuring the timely delivery of technical hardware and software solutions. You will provide hands-on program management throughout the various phases of projects, including analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post-implementation. Your expertise in risk management and change management will be crucial as you navigate the complexities of these projects. In this position, you will coordinate day-to-day activities and ensure quality assurance for the assigned projects and tasks. You will drive internal and external process improvements across multiple teams and functions, interfacing with the Engineering Team and external business owners to gather project requirements and define the project scope. Your role will also involve making product decisions that align with high-level company initiatives, planning technical software and system hardware product requirements, and developing comprehensive project execution plans. You will oversee the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring that project plans are adhered to and that on-time delivery is achieved. Identifying critical points of failure across systems will be a key responsibility, as will creating active monitoring dashboards to track these points. Additionally, you will be tasked with identifying and creating alerts for key telemetry events that may impact the reliability, performance, or stability of the overall ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Manage cross-functional infrastructure information technology programs in a matrix organization.
  • Develop and manage end-to-end project plans and ensure on-time delivery of technical hardware and/or software solutions.
  • Provide hands-on program management during the analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post-implementation phases of the projects assigned.
  • Perform risk management and change management on projects.
  • Provide day-to-day coordination and quality assurance for projects and tasks assigned.
  • Drive internal and external process improvements across multiple teams and functions.
  • Interface with the Engineering Team and external business owners for project requirements and scope.
  • Drive product decisions to align with high company initiatives.
  • Plan technical software and system hardware product requirements with internal teams and develop the project execution plan.
  • Oversee technical solutions and software development lifecycle end-to-end, ensuring on-time delivery.
  • Identify critical points of failures across systems or within system boundaries and create active monitoring dashboards for the same.
  • Identify and create alerts for key telemetry events across systems that trigger when the reliability, performance, or stability of the collective ecosystem is impacted.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
  • Five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in job offered or computer-related occupation.
  • Experience in program, project, or technical management.
  • Experience working on infrastructure, business solutions, or company growth implementation projects from inception to delivery.
  • Ability to define scope, understand business requirements, and translate needs into technical requirements.
  • Experience collecting data points across disparate projects and delivering data-driven insights.
  • Experience in cross-organizational work where teams and individuals are held accountable to timelines and deliverables.
  • Ability to drive internal process improvements across teams and functions to ensure high-performance bars are met.
  • Experience developing strategies to address tooling and framework gaps faced by engineering teams.
  • Proficiency in using multiple communication mediums to distribute information and tailoring messages to an audience.
  • Ability to define key failure and success metrics for cross-functional engineering systems by having an in-depth understanding of system design and function.
  • Experience defining monitoring dashboards or solutions that help monitor cross-system and intra-system health and performance.
