About the position

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced IT Program Manager specializing in AI/ML applications for internal IT systems. This position will work directly with IT leadership, executive leadership, product owners, and various SHI departments to ensure the successful implementation of AI/ML initiatives. The role requires a strong understanding of AI/ML technologies and software development processes, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects with high complexity and visibility. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling and leading project teams, collaborating with stakeholders to prioritize initiatives, and developing detailed project plans that encompass all phases of project delivery. In this role, you will regularly communicate project expectations, status, risks, and other relevant information to appropriate individuals throughout the organization, including executive leadership. You will be accountable for project deliverables and ensuring that project financials and milestones are met. Additionally, you will assist with evaluating requirements and provide guidance in support of Statement of Work preparation as needed. The position also involves leading and developing new or emerging technology service offerings, contributing to process improvement activities, and mentoring others within the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in driving product vision, roadmap, design, and communication, with at least 7 years of experience in these areas. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field is required, along with experience in Agile principles and leading scrums. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent leadership and communication abilities, and a deep understanding of customer needs and user-centric design are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects with high complexity and visibility
  • Manage project scope, including the creation and execution of change requests as needed
  • Assemble and lead project teams which often include internal and external resources, partners, etc
  • Collaborate with product owners, leadership, and cross-functional teams to prioritize initiatives and gather detailed requirements
  • Write detailed product specifications, write Epics and User Stories and acceptance criteria
  • Develop and execute detailed project plans that include all phases of project delivery
  • Regularly communicate project expectations, status, risks, etc. to appropriate individuals throughout the organization, including executive leadership
  • Accountable for project deliverables and ensuring project financials and milestones are met
  • Assist with efforts to evaluate requirements and provide guidance in support of Statement of Work preparation, as needed
  • Responsible for leading and developing new or emerging technology service offerings
  • Actively contribute to process improvement activities and mentor others

Requirements

  • 7+ years' experience in driving product vision, roadmap, design and communication
  • 3+ years' experience driving strategic initiatives within the AI/ML domain
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field
  • 7+ years' experience with Agile principles, leading scrums, building user stories, writing specifications, and managing team resources
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML technologies and software development processes
  • Familiarity with the complete product and software development cycle
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Deep understanding of customer needs and user-centric design
  • Previous management experience preferred but not required
  • Working knowledge of IT concepts: security, servers, storage, cloud computing, disaster recovery
  • Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Nice-to-haves

  • Ideally PMP Certification and/or Certified Scrum at Scale Practitioner (CSaSP) or Certified Scrum Professional (CSP)
