About the position

The Technical Program Manager (TPM) at Reality Labs Research will lead complex cross-functional programs in audio technology, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to bring innovative audio solutions to life. This role involves managing hardware and software initiatives, ensuring timely delivery, and communicating effectively with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead complex cross-functional program plans including milestones, schedules, and staffing plans.
  • Structure new programs and projects, developing end-to-end execution plans for on-time delivery across Audio research and AR/MR product organizations.
  • Collaboratively build and actualize technical roadmaps, identifying dependencies, constraints, and risks with mitigation strategies.
  • Drive alignment and delivery through difficult conversations with cross-functional partner teams.
  • Communicate planning, program status, issues, and risks in a timely manner to stakeholders.
  • Distill complex topics into clear communications for program stakeholders and executive management.
  • Support the creation of technical program management best practices for the team.
  • Design, build, and scale processes and systems to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience as a technical program manager or engineering manager in the technology industry.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams through the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience in navigating ambiguity and driving timely decisions.
  • Experience building and shipping 0→1 products from inception to delivery.
  • Strong communication skills with diverse stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience developing and shipping novel audio technologies and devices.
