About the position

The Thermal Mechanical Program Manager will be part of the AWS Hardware Engineering team, responsible for designing server platforms and AWS-specific hardware components. This role involves leading the development of products, managing supplier activities, and ensuring successful implementation at scale. The position requires collaboration with engineers across the company and focuses on applying new technologies to enhance server deployments, ultimately improving customer experience and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design server platforms and AWS-specific hardware components.
• Interact with engineers across the company and work with interdisciplinary teams.
• Execute product designs from concept to production, including design, development, validation, and implementation.
• Lead the application of new technologies to large-scale server deployments.
• Manage supplier activities to design, test, certify, manufacture, and integrate parts into final product SKUs.
• Align internal resources and vendors to deliver products that meet customer needs.
• Manage technology roadmaps and drive efficiency and cost savings.

Requirements

• 5+ years of technical product or program management experience.
• 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams.
• 3+ years of software development experience.
• 5+ years of technical program management experience working with software engineering teams.
• Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules.

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of project management experience including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path management.
• Experience defining KPIs/SLAs to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership.
