About the position

The Engineering Program Manager is an integral part of the Self-Driving and Electronic Systems Engineering Team and will be responsible for executing a broad range of oversight, tracking, and management goals. This role involves leading the Tesla Semi-Truck Camera and Camera Cleaning product development and being a key player in Tesla's critical innovation towards accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy and new controller technology architecture in Tesla Semi. The manager will oversee Semi-Truck Camera Hardware and Camera Cleaning product development programs from end-to-end for Tesla vehicles, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including Electrical, Integration, Distribution, Mechanical, Thermal, Firmware, Test, Reliability, Sourcing, Supplier Industrialization, and New Product Introduction. The position requires working collaboratively with engineering leads and managers to set goals and track deliverables, providing clear input and planning to the project team on schedules, issues, and deliverables related to subsystem and vehicle development. Additionally, the role involves communicating engineering requirements between Supply Chain and Purchasing to facilitate material planning, consolidating inputs from across Tesla into executive reviews highlighting risks and opportunities, and constantly evolving processes towards increasing precision and dependability while maintaining agility. The Engineering Program Manager will lead teams through rapid development cycles, changing requirements, and uncertainty, and will perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Tesla Semi-Truck Camera and Camera Cleaning product development.
  • Manage Semi-Truck Camera Hardware and Camera Cleaning product development programs from end-to-end.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Electrical, Integration, Distribution, Mechanical, Thermal, Firmware, Test, Reliability, Sourcing, Supplier Industrialization, and New Product Introduction.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience and proof of exceptional abilities.
  • 5+ years experience in product development, ideally with multiple delivered products in medium-to-high volume industry.
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering, software development, and mechanical engineering process.
  • Experience in planning activities and vendor management in an engineering environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex development projects and identify critical elements.
  • Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work cross functionally between engineering, production, and supply chain personnel.
