About the position

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain - and we're looking for talented people who want to help. As a Technical Program Manager in Data Center Engineering, you will join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You will collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Successful candidates will be analytical with excellent written and communication skills and be fully competent in a variety of project management tools, methodologies, and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle. You will oversee the complete equipment qualification process, ensuring alignment across various teams and adherence to technical, operational, safety, quality, reliability, and business requirements on a global scale. You will develop and sustain a scalable mechanism to seamlessly integrate diverse teams and ensure that all power and cooling equipment undergo the required qualification tests. Additionally, you will collaborate with architectural, structural, electrical, and mechanical disciplines, as well as material suppliers, to deliver high-quality designs that support favorable business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the complete equipment qualification process, ensuring alignment across various teams and adherence to technical, operational, safety, quality, reliability, and business requirements on a global scale.
  • Develop and sustain a scalable mechanism to seamlessly integrate diverse teams and ensure that all power and cooling equipment undergo the required qualification tests.
  • Collaborate with architectural, structural, electrical, and mechanical disciplines, as well as material suppliers, to deliver high-quality designs that support favorable business outcomes.
  • Support Basis of Design release management program, ensuring and enabling end to end cross team alignment.
  • Support other business critical programs enabling production readiness and other initiatives as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of analytical, quantitative, communication, and presentations experience.
  • 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience.
  • 3+ years of technical product or program management experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience.
  • Experience managing cross-functional programs and release schedules.
  • Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps.
  • Experience with MS Project, MS Office, and MS Sharepoint.
