About the position

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects, utilizing your engineering expertise to manage the entire project lifecycle. This role involves planning requirements with internal customers, managing project schedules, identifying risks, and communicating effectively with stakeholders. You will be responsible for understanding and codifying Alphabet's data center supply and capacity needs, ensuring efficient allocation of resources, and maintaining the infrastructure that supports Google's product portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a thought leader within Google and the industry on the subject matter domain of the respective organization.
  • Establish a reliable and visible cadence for portfolio reviews, decision making, prioritization, and resource management, leading to measurable improvements organization-wide.
  • Deliver measurable program performance gains correlated to execution velocity and establish governance over prioritization decisions.
  • Act as a change advocate, initiating and leading multiple organizations through pivots needed to address shifts in business trends and priorities.
  • Lead strategic planning framework for a complex program portfolio, influencing resourcing decisions and planning cadence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in program management.
  • 7 years of experience in leadership role(s) with/without direct reports.
  • 5 years of experience working with data models, including mixed integer programming and Monte Carlo scenarios.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10 years of experience managing cross-functional/team projects.
  • 7 years of experience in a supervisory role.
