About the position

As a Technical Program Manager I in Infrastructure Software Engineering at Google, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members. You will be responsible for building the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products, ensuring that essential design elements and infrastructure are in place to support innovation and user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver program communications in collaboration with program stakeholders, including metrics progress, meeting notes, meeting AIs, decision/escalation logs, newsletters, and websites.
  • Collect data relating to program progress from program stakeholders, maintain project trackers and status reports in collaboration with program stakeholders.
  • Author program charter that addresses scope and timeline of basic program, specify program objectives and key results, and explain resource requirements/dependencies.
  • Author stakeholder map that specifies who is impacted by, and who influences program outcome.
  • Triage technical bugs and feature requests alongside engineering stakeholders for purposes of prioritization, resourcing, and tracking execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience in program management.
  • Experience building, automating, and developing distributed systems from the ground up.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with analyzing data to understand trends and drive process improvements.
  • Experience with technologies such as virtualization and software infrastructure systems, compute, storage, data migration, capacity, load balancing, and software defined networking.
  • Experience managing execution of programs that span multiple engineering teams through the software project life-cycle (e.g., build, test, and release on time).
  • Ability to be an influential member of a highly integrated team composed of both technical and non-technical members.
