About the position

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will leverage your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to define requirements, assess risks, manage project timelines, and effectively communicate with cross-functional teams. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects align with Google's mission to create inclusive products that serve diverse communities. The Core team, which you will be a part of, is responsible for building the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products, driving innovation, and making impactful technical decisions across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver program communications in collaboration with program stakeholders, including metrics progress, meeting notes, meeting AIs, decision/escalation logs, newsletters, and websites.
  • Collect data relating to program progress from program stakeholders, maintain project trackers and status reports in collaboration with program stakeholders.
  • Author program charter that addresses scope and timeline of basic program, specify program objectives and key results, and explain resource requirements/dependencies.
  • Author stakeholder map that specifies who is impacted by, and who influences program outcome.
  • Triage technical bugs and feature requests alongside engineering stakeholders for purposes of prioritization, resourcing, and tracking execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience in program management.
  • Experience building, automating, and developing distributed systems from the ground up.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with analyzing data to understand trends and drive process improvements.
  • Experience with technologies such as virtualization and software infrastructure systems, compute, storage, data migration, capacity, load balancing, and software defined networking.
  • Experience managing execution of programs that span multiple engineering teams through the software project life-cycle (e.g., build, test, and release on time).
  • Ability to be an influential member of a highly integrated team composed of both technical and non-technical members.
