About the position

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will leverage your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion. Your role will involve collaborating with various stakeholders to plan project requirements, identify potential risks, manage project schedules, and maintain clear communication with cross-functional partners throughout the organization. You will be equally adept at presenting your team's analyses and recommendations to executives and discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers. The team you will be part of is dedicated to designing and building security and privacy capabilities for Android. This includes partnering with engineering teams to ensure that features are secure by default and developing systems to detect security issues across the Android ecosystem, enforcing remediation or compliance as necessary. You will also engage with external partners to secure both current and future Android devices, ensuring that the platform remains robust against emerging threats. Android, as Google's open-source mobile operating system, powers over 3 billion devices globally. The mission is to democratize computing, making it accessible to everyone, and you will play a crucial role in this vision by ensuring that the Android ecosystem is secure and resilient. Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead engineering programs that deliver new security and privacy capabilities within the platform.
  • Coordinate efforts across internal teams including feature engineers, product management, release management, and external parties including OEMs, SoC, vendors.
  • Partner with engineering teams to deliver analysis solutions that ensure the Android ecosystem is protected against known issues and supply chain risks.
  • Manage relationships with key internal and external partners, advocate for security programs, and help institutionalize new security practices.
  • Oversee vendor operations for business critical work-stream.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience in technical program management.
  • Experience delivering technical security solutions or cyber security.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with Original equipment manufacturers and carriers.
  • Experience working with distributed teams in multiple timezones.
  • Experience managing dynamic technical projects, with competing resources and priorities.
  • Experience managing relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Experience with Android applications, the Android OS, and frameworks, or other mobile operating systems.
