About the position

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will leverage your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion. Your role will involve collaborating with stakeholders to define project requirements, identify potential risks, manage project timelines, and effectively communicate with cross-functional partners throughout the organization. You will be expected to articulate your team's analyses and recommendations to executives while also engaging in detailed discussions about technical trade-offs in product development with engineers. This position is pivotal in ensuring that projects align with Google's mission to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. In this role, you will work closely with the compliance team to certify devices, applications, and services against a variety of regulations and standards. You will implement necessary controls and improvements to enhance the capabilities for certifying devices in collaboration with product teams. Your responsibilities will also include documenting and presenting results to diverse audiences, ranging from technical engineers to regulatory compliance and product teams. You will utilize appropriate metrics and dashboards to monitor and execute remediation efforts to achieve control compliance across multiple products. Additionally, you will manage relationships with key internal partners and collaborate with other compliance and legal teams to ensure timely investigation and remediation of any gaps identified during assessments and compliance reviews. This role is essential in fostering a culture of compliance and ensuring that Google's products meet the highest standards of security and privacy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish.
  • Work with stakeholders to plan requirements and identify risks.
  • Manage project schedules and communicate with cross-functional partners.
  • Explain analyses and recommendations to executives and discuss technical trade-offs with engineers.
  • Work with the compliance team to certify devices, apps, and services against regulations and standards.
  • Implement controls and improvements for device certification in cooperation with product teams.
  • Document and present results to various audiences, including technical engineers and regulatory compliance teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience in program management.
  • 1 year of experience in Security, Privacy, or Compliance.
